The purpose of a Curriculum Vitae (CV) is to provide a clear and structured representation of you, possibly with respect to a desired job. Your CV mostly consists of standard personal information, education, work experience and personal information (hobbies, languages, computer skills, occupations). A reader should be able to see in one glance what you can bring to the table for the position in question.
In addition to a clear and concise overview of relevant data, the CV has another very important function: it should trigger a client to invite you for an interview. With your CV and perhaps a motivation letter you can entice the employer to think “this person is interesting for our organization, I would like to get to know this person more thoroughly”.
